Continuing his evolution from iconic frontman of the British rock band Blur and founder of the virtual band Gorillaz, Damon Albarn’s gorgeous solo album, full of mystery and grace, was a must to be included in this collection.
Titled "The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows”, the album, which was released on November 12, 2021, is a love letter to the landscapes of Iceland, where Albarn spent time writing and recording the album. In a recent interview, Albarn spoke about his fascination with Iceland, saying that it's a place that has always held an inspiring kind of magic for him. "Iceland is such a unique and special place, it's like nowhere else on earth," he said. "The landscapes are so dramatic and otherworldly, and the people are so warm and welcoming. I've always felt a strong connection to the place, and I wanted to explore that connection through my music.” Halfway through the recording process, Albarn lost his longtime friend and collaborator Tony Allen and the album reflects Albarn's sorrow at the legendary Afrobeat drummer leaving his life, as well as the general, sombre mood of the COVID-era.

Centred in a world often associated with simplicity and acoustic pursuits, Mighty Oaks first began their foray into indie folk back in 2010, with an American, a Brit and Italian recording songs in a living room in Berlin. The three members all met in Hamburg, at a little singer-songwriter event called Melodica Festival. The indie folk trio released their fourth studio album, "All Things Go" in February 2021. The album has been well-received by fans and critics alike, and showcases the band's growth and evolution since their formation in 2010.

Lump was formed in 2016 after singer-songwriter Laura Marling and Mike Lindsay of folktronica group Tunng met at a Neil Young concert. Both were mutual fans of each other's work and they promptly began making music together, culminating in a self-titled debut which was released in 2018 to strong critical acclaim.
Recording began in spring 2019, with Marling coming to Lindsay's home studio in Margate, Kent every two weeks between May and November of that year. Like their debut, Lindsay served as lead composer and musical director, while Marling provided vocal melodies and lyrics.
